Hello and welcome to Acier Doux. How are you and what’s new with Final Error ?

Hey there, I’m good, thanks. It’s been a ride. What’s new with Final Error is actually me. I’ve joined in 2023. Thus far it has been a blast. The guys are great, the music is a lot of fun and I’m left so much more room to play what I would like then with my old band. And we already had some great gigs together.

This question became quite a bit cliché, but I like to ask because it enables readers to have a more precise idea of the band’s music. What are your strongest musical influences?

I mean, listen to our music. There’s so much in there. Every member puts a bit of themselves in it and everyone has different influences. Some of us started in Punk bands, some played in Black Metal bands. There’s Dying Fetus and Slayer and so much more. I myself love progressive Metal/Rock and the Old School European Death Metal stuff. So let’s see where the next album takes us.

Final Error practices a Death Thrash Metal that sounds both influenced by the early 90’s, and some Thrash and Crossover influences… Well, your music is really located in the middle of these influences, can you tell us more about it ?

I guess with Crossover you relate to the first album. We used to have a very different sounding singer. I myself like that album. But it is also nothing like what we are doing now. When you listen to our recordings and compare it with which members were there, you can see an influence by the current line up. I will bring something else to the table and maybe a slight change in sound as has every new member. I love that. Final Error has a distinguishable sound and it also leaves everyone enough space to influence it.

Introduce us to your last album “Necromantic Rituals ” that was released 2022… Are you still satisfied with it? How is the feedback for now? And the sales, are they gaining weight as a big baby in full growth?

Of course we are still satisfied with it. That album is packed with great songs. I’m allowed to say that, I wasn’t part of it.
Joke aside. It’s still going great. People love it. Reviews are still coming, celebrating it. I mean, yes it was released in 2022 but at the end of it. It just had it’s first birthday and is still fresh.
We are playing mostly songs of the album live and the feedback is amazing. I love to play those songs live. There is so much energy in them.

When you engage in songwriting, is it more of a stream of consciousness, or do you have a specific end goal and sound in mind?

Songwriting is mostly done by Juan (lead guitars). He comes up with riffs and has a basic arrangement done already. Then Hammer (Bass) takes a look at it and does some more arranging. Nico (Vocals), Fabian (Rhythm Guitar) and I are putting our lines on that and are basically free to do, what we want. Of course there’s an overall sound to match. And we are tweaking everything a bit during the process to settle with something everyone likes. But mostly there’s a collective understanding of how it should sound.
That’s for most of the songs. Every now and then Fabian also brings one to the table.

What goals do you have for Final Error in 2024?

2024 is still all about Necromantic Rituals. We will play live and promote the album. Already have some gigs booked. But new ones are always welcome. Just contact us via our Facebook or Instagram or just write one of us directly.
Soon we will finally hold the Vinyl version of Necromantic in our hands which is a great feeling to know. It’s always amazing having your music on vinyl. It took some time, there were some complications with the factory but now our label ‘Kernkraft Ritter Records’ has switched the factory and it won’t be long until we finally have it. Love goes out to everyone buying the vinyl in presale and has shown so much patience!

Ok, what are the next plans for Final Error ? Something bestializing to announce to the readers? Thanks for the answers.

Well, actually we have started writing new songs. Just played the second one for the first time in the practice room. On paper the whole new album is basically written, there might be another song added down the line but it’s basically done. Now we need to practice them. Studio is booked for drum recordings in November. We are ready for some fresh wind and ideas, which is why we change the producer. This time we will record with Jörg Uken at Soundlodge Studio. We are really looking forward to the recordings.
The new songs are a bit faster, a bit more tricky but also a bit more thrashy again. Look out for it in 2025.

Thank you very much for giving us this space. Hi to everyone out there supporting us. Listen to us on Spotify, buy our music with us directly or at our label KKR Records.
