Sleazer, a band born in late 2011 in Senigallia, Italy. They play Heavy Metal music influenced by mid 80s and early 90s bands like Iron Maiden, Savatage, Running Wild, Savage Grace, Dokken, Judas Priest, W.A.S.P. early Blind Guardian. They like to play in an old school style between Heavy Metal, Power Metal and Hair Metal, winking at the new “traditional” Heavy Metal bands like Skull Fist, Enforcer, Striker and Cauldron.
Sleazer began with some shows playing mostly covers of our heavy metal and Hard Rock heroes (Motorhead, Iron Maiden, Wasp, Skid Row, Heavy Load and so on). After that and after a change of lineup they were ready to write our own songs. The new lineup was: Clemente Cattalani and Andrea Di Tommaso (guitar), Diego Sbriscia (bass guitar), Amedeo Paolini (drums) and Andrea Vecchiotti (vocals).
It is no longer news that Heavy Metal in all its slopes has traced flight with steel wings. This Italian band claims this with their first LP and with very good form. “Fall into disgrace” is an incandescent fireball, the art of these guys are simple, high level Speed / Heavy Metal. If someone told me that this record was made in the 1980s, I would believe it. Because from the logo of the band, the cover of the album and the aesthetics of the musicians remind me of how things were done in that glorious time.
They open the album with an intro that reminds me of science fiction films from the 80’s, such as “Blade Runner”. “Hero of Disgrace” explodes in your ears with a fast and strident riff like is common in the genre and this song is a good example of what you will find in what remains of the disc. Although not everything is speed for these boys, there is also time for the half march as in the song “Straight on your way”. The voice of Andrea Vicchiotti is of natural tone, although you can hear acute shouts in their right measure, without exaggerating. Sharp guitars and very tight bass and battery bases make this disc simple but powerful. If you like bands like Speedtrap, this is your thing.
