Evolving. While Ruthless is known for its origins, steeped in the sounds of the 80s so revered by metal fans, the new band lineup is seeking to create a fresh but familiar sound through mixing other movements in metal music; the relentless energy of thrash music, the haunting melodic twists of death metal, and the intricacies of progressive metal. This Spring will see the new album from Ruthless titled “The Evil Within”. It promises to delve more deeply into familiar themes of war and conflict with new perspectives and melodic inventions that will surprise their fans, but still have them feeling the same as when they first heard “Metal Without Mercy”. “The Evil Within” will be released by Pure Steel as a follow up to “They Rise”, the bands return from “retirement” that The Metal Gods Meltdown website rates “… a first rate album of pure unadulterated Metal to be enjoyed, savored and moshed to!” and Metal Forces said “… with this truly demonic slab oae metal. In fact, it’s as if Ruthless have simply continued from where they left us in those halcyon days of rock.”

Welcome Mr Sammy to Acier Doux Tunisia ! Thanks for taking time to answer a few questions from our end. How are things in the Ruthless”s camp?
Sammy : Hey Acier Doux thats for inviting me , Everything i going great with the band , Kenny Mcgee is no longer with us but we have a great lineup.
It has been long years. What inspired the band to get back together ?
Sammy : Well it was Oilver from Keep It True Fest in Germany that actually gets the credit he asked me ifI could get the band back together to play his fest in 2009.
What are your influences ? What is your music background ?
Sammy : My influences are Ian Gillian , Ronnie Dio , Rob Halford.
I like alot of different types of Music execpt country and hip hop that shit sucks, But Metal is in blood , in my soul its who I am who I will always will be a Metalhead.

What was the vibe like in the studio ? Did you want to keep your signature ‘80s sound ?
Sammy : We had a great time in the studio , yeah for this cd we wanted to stay old school.
Can you tell us about your latest release ” They Rise ” ?
Sammy : yeah its a very good cd we’re very proud of it after 28 years we finally brought new Ruthless to the world.

I wonder if you listen to your new release immediately after you finish it or do you give it some time before listening to it ? For the new fans hearing you for the first time, how would you describ your sound ?
Sammy : I listened to it right away, then gave it about 5 months before listening to it again Im mean you record the songs then go out and play the songs you kind of want to give it a little time before listening to it again. Well its Ruthless but you can hear our influence in Priest Accept & Sabbath
Metal Fans still love what you are made ?
Sammy : Yes they do and we a very honored and proud to have made music are still making music that fans Injoy.
What’s the most memorable show you guys have played and where are you scheduled to hit the stage in the near future ?
Sammy : We played so many shows but I would any showv that we play in Europeis very memorable me I love playing infront of European Metal fans they’re great.
Are you touring soon ?
Sammy : Our next Show is April 7th in Brooklyn NY Rage of Armageddon Fest
We had planned a big tour this year but with the changes in the band it got us behind a little on recoding and production on our first ever vidio!! So we’re just doing a few shows festivals here in the US then get out next year 2018 get back to Europe and South America do it up big time.

Are there any countries you’re interested in touring or performing in ? Why ?
Sammy : We want to go to many countries places we’ve been Like Germany and Greece Plus we would like to go to Spain The UK , Denmark, and are actually working on those places as we speak !! Why well as I was saying bro , we love European Metal fans they’re the greatest.
How do you think your music will progress in the future ?
Sammy : Its progressing now our new cd will be a little more Thrash a little Darker but still have that Ruthless sound.

Sammy : well just finish the cd and then get back out on stage infront of our fans.
