War Device was formed in Serres back in 2012 by Manos Moutaftsis, Sotiris Simeonidis And Makis Arampatzis.War Device consist of Mario Dogwar (Vocals), Sotiris Simeonidis (Guitars), Manos Triantafillou (Guitars), Giannis Maleas (Bass) and Manos Moutaftsis (Drums). The band counts one EP “The Anger” (self-released), one split cd with Speed Command (released by American Line Productions) and one full length album “Whisper Of Souls” (released by Rock Of Angels Records). All of the releases above, were supported by numerous appearances in festivals and a tour in Greece. However the band has shared the stage with Scanner, Paul Di’Anno, Rotting Christ, Nightstalker and many more.
I already said it too many times that old school metal is the new thing. However, it doesn’t mean that only by playing 80’s metal you become instantly good. No it needs to have originality and passion to convince the listener that you are really into what you play and personally speaking there are few bands that can do that. War Device is coming with the Great New Album with a full Thrashy Name ” Infinite Chaos” under Soman Recoords and In their new album all the elements that made them recognizable are here. The band has catchy melodies and very detailed lead and solo guitar parts and of course a singer that has an expressive,Thrashy Brutal and dynamic voice. I also liked the song “Within The Violence” that sticks into your mind from the first time that you listen to it. Above all, though, the band sounds very natural and shows a true love for much bands they are influnced by like demolition hammer Atomica and Some of Kat The Polish Thrash Masters and deep knowledge for the 80’s metal sound and all these elements give a sense of freshness and originality to this release.“Infinite Chaos ” is a good release and the songs which you will find are equally good. I think people who like Thrash / Speed Metal with fresh ideas will enjoy this release.
